Nang mapagdesiyunan naming mag-asawa na iwan ang bansa para magtrabaho ay hinanda ko na ang sarili na talikuran ang pagsusulat. Sabi ko na baka hindi talaga sa akin ang pagsusulat. Pero hindi talaga mapigilan. Kung ano talaga ang nasa puso ay kailangang ilabas.
Al Joseph Academia Lumen grew up in Cavite and now lives
in Germany with his family. He was a member of a Facebook writing group "Lapis sa Kalye" which was founded in 2010. His writings have appeared in numerous anthologies, including the ANI series of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Liwayway Magazine. He won 2nd place at the 2023 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for his essay Ausländer: Mga Danas sa Alemanya and won Best Book Non-Fiction at the 2025
Migration Advocacy and Media Awards.
